Our Approach to Pharmacy Services in Central Massachusetts and Beyond

Filling a prescription often comes with delays and uncertainty. That can be challenging, especially when you’re not feeling well. At UMass Memorial Health, we made the process easier.

Our Prescription Center Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy. We provide the complete range of medications, from routine prescriptions to specialty medicines. Pharmacists are available to answer your questions and help you manage your medications for better health.

You don’t have to be a UMass Memorial patient or employee to use our pharmacy. We welcome anyone from the community to fill their prescriptions with us.

Prescription Center Pharmacy Services

Because you’re busy, we offer several convenient ways to fill your prescriptions:

In-Person Pick-Up

Like any retail pharmacy, your doctor can fax, electronically send or call in prescriptions to our pharmacies. We accept most insurances and have two convenient locations at UMass Memorial Medical Center’s University and Memorial Campuses.

To refill your current prescriptions, call us or log into myChart and follow the instructions in the “Medications Activity” section. You can also send a message to your provider in myChart to request a refill.

To transfer a prescription to the Prescription Center Pharmacy, call us with the:

• Current pharmacy name and phone number
• Medication name and strength

Delivery to Your Hospital Room Before Discharge

We are committed to supporting you at every step of care, from admission through discharge and follow-up care. Our Meds-to-Beds service delivers your prescriptions to you before you leave the hospital. You return home with your medication in hand, without an extra stop at the pharmacy.

Meds-to-Beds is for patients being discharged home during normal pharmacy hours. Here’s how it works:

1. Let us know: Tell your care team you want your prescriptions delivered before you leave.
2. Order: Your provider sends your prescription directly to the pharmacy.
3. Payment: A pharmacy team member contacts you to collect payment information. You can also provide payment details ahead of time by calling the pharmacy.
4. Delivery: A pharmacy team member delivers your medication to your nurse or directly to your room.

Home Delivery Through Prescriptions Direct

UMass Memorial Health Prescriptions Direct delivers your prescriptions straight to your home, saving you time and helping you stay on track with your treatment. Our dedicated team coordinates delivery, including scheduling, payment, and ongoing shipment set-up if needed.

You have a dedicated pharmacy liaison who manages your prescriptions from start to finish. They:

• Coordinate with your prescriber to obtain insurance approval
• Help you receive your medication at the lowest cost
• Provide financial assistance options, if necessary
