When a life-threatening illness or injury strikes, getting to the right care quickly is essential — and sometimes the fastest route is by helicopter. UMass Memorial Health offers the region’s only nationally recognized air ambulance service. UMass Memorial Life Flight, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), provides both air and ground critical care transport for patients in urgent need.

Highly skilled doctors are available 24/7 to deliver the most advanced services for acute illnesses and traumatic injuries. Each year, we treat approximately 135,000 patients. This level of emergency care is not widely available in the region.
